Relegation battlers Oldham and Peterborough shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park thanks to a last minute goal by Latics sub Scott Vernon.
Vernon pounced deep into injury time to claim a vital equaliser, his 14th strike of the season.
Peterborough were holding on with few problems after taking a first half lead through defender Simon Rea. But manager Barry Fry blasted his teams defending as "terrible" after Scott Vernon denied them at the death.
Fry said: "All we had to do was keep the ball for 30 seconds and the game would have been over but Mark Arber gave it away and we paid the price.
"What we did was criminal. And we only have ourselves to blame for losing two points.
"Things like that can send you down and to give away a goal in those circumstances has left the lad gutted.
"On top of that we might have lost Sagi Burton for the rest of the season - it looks like he has done his hamstring." Oldham dominated early on as Paul Murray dragged a shot across goal and Ernest Cooksey missed a great chance to turn it in at the far post.
Jermaine Johnson was off target with a header and attacking full back Dean Holden grazed the woodwork from the edge of the box.
But Posh were dangerous with the quality set pieces of Tom Williams and had already missed a clear chance for Arber when they went in front on 37 minutes. Williams swung in a corner and Rea thundered home with his head from six yards.
Oldham made their first chance of the second half after an hour but Vernon misguided his header from an Adam Griffin cross.
They looked down and out with over 93 minutes on the clock but when Darren Sheridan's corner dropped to Vernon he crashed it in from close range.
