Exeter 2-0 Oldham- Report

Exeter kept their unlikely play-off dream alive with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Oldham Athletic at St James Park.

Two goals in the first half were enough for Exeter to lift them to within two points of Bournemouth in sixth.

Scott Golbourne broke the deadlock with a brilliant low drive that went in off the upright after a fine flowing move.

Jamie Cureton made it 2-0 three minutes before half-time when Golbourne and Ryan Harley combined down the left to set up O'Flynn. His sliced shot caused havoc in the Oldham penalty box and Cureton was on hand to ram home the loose ball.

Oldham had the better of the second half but could not score with the few chances they created.

Oumare Tounkara came closest with a fine shot that was brilliant tipped over the bar by Exeter goalkeeper Ben Hamer, while Hamer also had to be at his best to deny substitute Aidan White.
