Blackpool and Oldham played out a Bank Holiday bore draw in front of more than 8,000 fans at a noisy Bloomfield Road.
The visitors enjoyed the better chances although Blackpool had two good penalty shouts turned down by referee Mr Leake.
Chris Killen squandered the first of several good chances for the Latics on five minutes when a David Eyres chip found him free in the area. However good work from Peter Clarke denied him.
Danny Coid shot just over the bar for the home side before Richard Walker appeared to have won himself a spot-kick.
The striker put the ball around Les Pogliacomi before the keeper appeared to clip his ankle, but the referee indicated that he played the ball.
Phil Barnes then made a fine save to deny Oldham's Clyde Wijnhard whose powerful volley looked to be heading for the corner.
Oldham's Michael Clegg could have been sent off for a series of niggling fouls in an occasionally ill-tempered game on International Fair Play Day.
He was replaced early in the second half but Oldham continued to have the better of the play with Killen again squandering a good chance when he couldn't squeeze the ball past Barnes from a tight angle.
Scott Taylor missed a golden chance to win it for the Seasiders five minutes from time at Richie Wellens' jinking run set him up on the edge of the six-yard box, against Pogliacomi made the save.
There was further drama in the final minute when Matt Appleby was sent off after fouling Coid inches outside the area.
A touchline incident at full-time kept Oldham boss Iain Dowie away from the post-match press conference, but his Blackpool counterpart Steve McMahon said: "That wasn't the best of games, it was a disappointing spectacle and both teams are probably disappointed in their performance.
"That's our third consecutive clean sheet and I can't remember too many times when that has happened before so we are defending well.
"I thought both Richard Walker and Danny Coid should have had penalties, the referee has done us badly today."
