Mark Yeates, the experienced winger who was recently at Bradford, is rumoured to be close to signing a deal.
The 30-year-old has been training with the Latics and is expected to sign for at least a month. Manager Darren Kelly is still hoping to land a striker before the transfer window closes on 1st September to replace injured Jake Cassidy.
Kelly said, “Jake is a big loss and that type of striker is what we need for another striker or the midfield to feed off.”
