After the walk out of manager Paul Scholes, Pete Wild is taking over the role as head coach until the end of the season. His earlier success of four wins, three losses and a draw from his eight games in charge included the never-to-be-forgotten win at Fulham in the FA Cup. His first game will be the next match against Grimsby Town on Saturday 30th March.
Wild commented, “I’m looking forward to working with the players again and hopefully finishing on a positive note. I know this team has quality and hopefully the fans will see the best of these players from now until the end of the season.”
Is it significant that the appointed role is classed as head coach and not manager? Does this suggest that there may be some interference with team selection? Time will tell how this all pans out.
