Richie Wellens spoke about his return to the club and admitted that he is ecstatic to be back. He has signed a loan deal which will keep him at the club until 2nd January.
He enthused, “It’s a club I know well and I’ve got a lot of affection for it so I’m looking forward to get going and playing some games. I’ve been back a few times but with the new stand, it looks pretty good. Hopefully we can start getting more people through the turnstiles. I remember a long time ago we were getting 11 or 12 thousand and obviously we got beat in the play-offs, but they were great times. Hopefully we can get more people coming to the game and try and lift us up the table.”
“Doncaster played Oldham earlier in the season and Oldham were a good side. I came to the Barnsley game last week and in the second half there was only one winner. There were bits where you can manage the game a bit better. I walked into the dressing room this morning and the atmosphere was fine. Training was fine, also so it’s not all doom and gloom. Two or three results can change a season around and we are looking to do that.”
