He said, "It feels good. I've come to a club that is looking on the up, an ambitious club. Hopefully I can achieve the goal here, which is to get into the Championship. There were a couple of Championship clubs that I was open to go for. The situations changed and I was left with a situation where I had to make a decision. Pre-season was about to start and I wanted to make a decision. The financial package and location that was offered by Doncaster made sense and were large factors in me joining the club."
"When I went to Oldham, their supporters expected a lot of me and I don't think I disappointed them. I think the difference between here and Oldham is that I am going to be playing with better players here. I think I'll be okay. I think that if you have two centre midfield positions, you should have four midfield players. The same as your strikers and as your centre-backs. If you are a footballer and you don't like competition, you're struggling really."
"Being honest, I'm not too excited about getting the training under way. I'll get fit and that is the part that players don't enjoy. Then you get to the bit that you do enjoy, which is starting the games. I went to the training ground this morning and met some of the lads, just shook their hand and said hello. Obviously, I'll meet everyone properly tomorrow when I start training."
"It's obviously an excitement playing Manchester United in a pre-season schedule. Most pre-season games you are involved in, there isn't much of a crowd. You play non-league teams and it's a big game for them and not for you. With this one, the shoe is on the other foot, where we are the side looking forward to it. United will probably be looking at it as a warm-up for the Community Shield. At the end of the day though, it is a pre-season friendly, and the games that matter are the ones when the league starts."
