Warne signs for Yeovil

Paul Warne has signed for League One rivals Yeovil Town. Warne was released from the Latics in May and was obviously disappointed but diplomatically stated that he was glad to have to opportunity to take a 'step up'.

He told Yeovil's official website, "Yeovil went all the way to Wembley last season and deservedly so. I hope that I can now be involved in a season similar to last year. And with a few signings being brought in to strengthen the squad, maybe now we can go on a bit more. Obviously all players want to play in good teams, and win promotions. I wouldn't sign for a team who I don't think will do well, so I think that this move will be good for me."

"I speak to Forbesy quite a lot, who plays here, and I talked to Craig Rocastle who was on loan here, and they both said that I would love it if I came here. They said that it is a good club, and that it is friendly and I will get on with people too. I think that it will be a good experience to come here, and it will be a good experience for my family to come here too. I want to play at a club like this. I have played for three northern clubs which I enjoyed thoroughly, but this will be a different experience, and I thought that it would be good for me personally and for my family."

"The fact that Yeovil came in was brilliant for me. I know that when Oldham fans read about it in the papers, obviously a lot of them will wish me good luck, but a lot of them will not believe that Oldham let me go and that I have gone to a better club, So that makes me feel good about myself, and I am proud of the decision that I've made to come here."

I am sure that Warney will receive a great welcome from the fans for the 100% effort that he put into his playing days at Boundary Park when he visits.
