Warne is confident of the teams ability

Latics match winner at Swansea, Paul Warne, hit his tenth goal of the season to equal his tally for last season, his best ever. He went into double figures like last season and he also scored ten goals for Rotherham in the 1999-00 season.

Warney said, "I enjoyed the goal, and I had a few more chances to get another as well. I got the one though, and it turned out to be the winning goal so happy days. I'd like to pretend it was good play by myself, but it was a complete fluke! All I had to do was make sure I kept my shot low and hard. I think we deserved to score further goals. If Gary Mac's chance had gone in it would have been the best goal I've ever seen, but I'm more than happy with one-nil. Then Tate blocked me to prevent a second goal, which would have made the second half a lot more comfortable had it gone in but the lads at the back defended well, and Will Haining and Sean Gregan won everything in the air."

"If I can chip in then that's all well and good, but the team winning is the most important thing. We looked strong and organised at Swansea. We're playing with confidence and to be top of the league is brilliant. Teams are going to look at Saturday's scoreline and see a side moving in the right direction. Long may that continue."
