Warne cleans up with awards

Athletic recently held their awards ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Paul Warne (pictured) picked up four of the major prizes. He was named player of the year by the fans, the Boundary Blues, the Supporters Association and the Supporters Trust and he also shared the Oldham Chronicle Star Man award along with Will Haining and Richie Wellens.
23 goal Chris Porter won the players' player-of-the-year award. Chris Taylor took the Colin Shaw Memorial Trophy as the Young Player of the Year and Neal Eardley won the Young Player Award. Simon Charlton won the Goal of the Season award for his long range lob against Gillingham and the 5-0 home win over Nottingham Forest was declared the best Performance of the Season.
