Due to his hat-trick the Kiwi is one of five to have the chance of winning the award, which is run by the FA in conjunction with UMBRO. The other four contenders are Yeading's DJ Campbell, Exeter's Dean Moxey, Colchester's Greg Halford and Hartlepool's Chris Westwood.
If Chris is crowned Player of the Round he wins an engraved silver salver, £1000 of UMBRO football kit, and will be able to give equipment to a local school, club or organisation of his choice. He would also join the FA's "Team of the FA Cup" who will be introduced to the crowd at the Millennium Stadium before the game, as well as have VIP attendance to the final. That is, if Oldham don't make it to the final themselves!
And you have the chance to let him get the award. A poll is currently underway on the FA website in which Chris is currently second. Vote and let him earn some glory for himself and for Oldham Athletic. The poll closes at 9.00am on Monday December 14th, 2004, so hurry!
