Two American based British businessmen join takeover race

Two more potential buyers have joined the race to take over ownership of the Boundary Park club. The men are both lifelong Athletic supporters, British, and are based in America. The two un-named businessmen jetted in to watch the Latics convincingly beat Stockport County and remained the next day for talks with the club.

They have unsuccessfully tried to buy an English club in the past, so the question must be asked, “Why did they not try for Athletic before?” The deal could hinge on the council and OPP making the Boundary Park propertyavailable for purchase.
