Athletic have taken on three more trialists from Australia. Tom Pondeljak (pictured) is a 26 year old right sided midfielder from Olympic Sharks who also played for Melbourne Knights and Sydney United. He has appeared four times for the Australian national side. Royce Brownlee is a striker who was formerly on trial at Sheffield Wednesday.
Brownlee scored the only goal for the Latics reserves at Middlesbrough in their 2-1 defeat.
The third player is Dahl Douglas, another right sided midfielder, who currently plays at Dutch side Ajax. Dowie said of him, “He's got flair and can go past people, we'll see how he does, he's here for a week so hopefully we can have a look at him in a couple of games.”
