The waiting is over and Frankie Bunn isthe new first team manager of OAFC. Bunn has signed a one year deal and is a former Latics' favourite after making 88 appearances and scoring 35 goals between 1987 and 1990, He will be best remembered for his record breaking six goals against Scarborough in the League Cup, a feat which fuelled the beginning of the glory years. Unfortunately, his career was cut short through injury but he has since held coaching roles at Wigan Athletic, Coventry City, Manchester City, Rochdale and Huddersfield Town.
Latics' owner Abdallah Lemsagam commented, “We are delighted to welcome Frankie Bunn to the club as first team manager. He knows the club very well from his playing time here and he has a wealth of experience working with young talent which has impressed me. I believe he can take the club forward and give Boundary Park something to cheer about.”
