Athletic's new signing Dean Holden has thanked Bolton Wanderers for allowing him to leave the Reebok Stadium and join the Latics on a free transfer. The Wanderers relinquished an initial fee in favour of a deal with a subsequent sell-on clause. Holden told Bolton's official website, “They have been brilliant about the whole
deal and I am very grateful to them. I know this is the right move for me and I didn't have a moment's hesitation in making it. Personal terms were agreed straight away and I am looking forward to a new challenge in my career.”
Holden (21) moved to Boundary Park on a season-long loan deal in October making 27 appearances and chipping in with two goals.
