Chris Taylor has intimated that he could be staying with Latics even though he rejected the offer of a new contract. Manager Paul Dickov said, “Chris says he wants to go and play at a higher level, but I have not ruled out completely that he might still be here next season. We would like it to happen, but it is in Chris' hands. After the service he has given to the club, however, nobody could begrudge him wanting to go and play in a higher division.”
“Taylor has made 285 appearances for the Latics since making his debut in 2006 scoring 35 goals. He is currently on the sidelines with damaged ankle ligaments and ,during the time I have been at the club, Chris has been fantastic. Sometimes he takes stick and a lot of it is unjust. That is what often happens when a player comes through the ranks and has been here a long time that makes him an easy target.”
