Taylor injury finishes his season

Chris Taylor has limped out of training with a damaged ankle and will miss the last two games of the season as it is severely swollen. Manager Joe Royle told the official website, "If we didn't have bad luck we'd have no luck at all. Chris got caught by a late challenge in training - a complete accident - and he's fallen badly on his ankle, which is badly swollen. He's definitely out of Saturday's game and I am 95% certain he will not play against Walsall either. It's typical of our luck with injuries of late. The two loan players [Ian Westlake and Shane Supple] have hardly played and now we have lost probably our biggest asset and top goalscorer."
Head physio Marc Czuczman added, "Chris was in a tackle which forced his ankle underneath him. There was immediate swelling which we've already managed to reduce quite markedly, and we got him x-rayed to check for any further damage. Fortunately that came back clear so at the moment we're working on the ligaments. We'll be settling him down over the next 48 hours in preparation for a scan to ascertain the extent of the damage."
