Conflicting rumours continue regarding the proposed takeover at Boundary Park. Apparently, Moroccan businessman Abdallah Lemsagam has been present at the ground on a number of occasions which fuels the argument for the possibility of an injection of much-needed funding.
CEO Mark Moisley has commented to the Manchester Evening News, “It's looking like it's very close. The EFL have had all the documents they've required now. They came back and asked for some additional [documents] that they've now had, and as far as we're aware they're happy with everything. They need to come back and confirm all of that still, but hopefully things will move forward very soon now. I know we've been criticised for saying it's dragged on. We said a little while ago that we thought it would be four to six weeks, and the reason we said that is that's what we believed at the time."
"We were trying to give fans some idea of a handle on how long it would be, and the fact it's taken a little longer than that is out of our hands. The easiest thing in the world for us is not to put a time frame on it, but we were trying to give some guidance on it. Hopefully very soon we'll hope to have a result on it.”
