Latics manager John Sheridan has finally managed to complete the signing of a forward to bolster his squad. Lewis Grabban has signed a one month loan from Crystal Palace and should make his debut at Millwall on Saturday. Grabban is 18 and is 6'-0" tall and has scored over 50 goals for Palace at reserve and youth team level. He also made two first team appearances as substitute last season.

The youngster has been recommended by Bob Dowie, the brother of ex-manager Iain, who was responsible for discovering Fitz Hall and Wayne Andrews. Dowie rates Grabban highly and describes him as one of the most exciting prospects at Selhurst Park. Sheridan said, "Lewis is a young striker with bags of potential. We hope he can do for us what Jermaine Defoe did for Bournemouth a few years ago."
