The Latics’ manager, having watched his team fight back in the last game, found it a hard pill to swallow after losing 3-2 at Stevenage on Saturday. His team had held the lead twice only to capitulate.

He admitted, “When you score two goals away from home you expect something out of the game. We created several chances and haven't taken them, then we've paid the price. I don't think Daniel Iversen had to make a save apart from the one in the first half where he's tipped one over the bar. We've created a lot of chances and not taken them, and in the end we've paid for that. To score two goals away from home and lose is a tough one to take.”

“They have scored the most goals from crosses in this league and for large parts of the game we dealt with that. We switched off in vital areas defensively, they've scored their third one from a throw in where the ball has bounced in the midfield and we had a couple of nibbles at it but didn't win it. Errors are costing us at the minute. We had a good start, we got a goal and we had another chance before that which we should have done better with. They've had two efforts in the first half and two efforts in the second half and we've conceded three goals. We are where we are, we keep on pushing and you can see that they are fighting, we're all together come what may and we'll keep fighting to put it right.”
