Stam on the way back
Last updated : 20 December 2006 By Dave Moore
Stefan Stam could be back from injury to take part in one or more of the Christmas fixtures. Stam has been out for over a month after damaging his ankle ligaments in the match at Cheltenham Town in November. The Dutchman is now back in full training but has been hampered by the recent lack of reserve team fixtures.
Sean Gregan was brought in as cover for Stam and has formed a useful partnership with Will Haining, resulting in four clean sheets in seven games. Gregan's loan deal expires at the end of the year and his impact on the team will make manager John Sheridan pull out all the stops in an attempt to keep him at Boundary Park.
