Korey Smith, the 22-year-old midfielder, has signed a two year deal at Boundary Park. Smith was on loan near the end of last season and was a free agent. Manager Lee Johnson is delighted to have signed the youngster under the noses of several Championship clubs who were keen to acquire his services. Smith joins Jonson Clarke-Harris, James Dayton and Sidney Schmeltz as Johnson assembles his squad for the coming season.
Johnson said, “A couple more players will be loans and the rest are permanent deals. There is a lot going on. We have agreed loans, but until they are done, you can never be sure. Loads of players want to come in on trial - and they aren’t bad names either but I want to guard against having too many trialists at once; you lose sight of the squad you have.”
