Latics goalkeeper Terry Smith has signed for Southport in the Conference on a one month loan. Southport are struggling, having won just seven games this season, and are entrenched in a relegation battle so Haig Avenue boss Peter Davenport made his move for the back-up keeper.Smith is 19 years old and will go straight into the team who take on Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Way tonight. Smith has had two first team outings as a substitute but the arrival of Alan Blayney has seen his opportunities severely limited.
