Smash and Grab to cause problems

Manager John Sheridan (pictured) was delighted with his new "smash and grab" strike force of Craig Davies and Michael Ricketts who have formed what looks to be a formidable force which will cause no end of trouble to the opposition when the coming season begins on 11th. August. They looked a class act and caused problems for a below par Sheffield Wednesday in yesterday's home friendly.

Sheridan enthused, "I'm pleased they both got on the scoresheet, and that'll be great for their confidence as strikers. Craig was a real handful while Michael did his little bits too, and he'll only get stronger." Both players scored in the match and the pair were unlucky not to increase their tally on several occasions.

The gaffer went on, "Michael is a player with lots of Premiership experience and I know people expect a lot from him. He's been playing with high quality players who see things a lot sooner, but Michael will work at playing at this level, and as long as he puts that work in he will get the rewards. I think he's too good for this division, and I hope he proves me right."
