Keen to encourage competition the boss told Latics World, "I want a left-sided player and a ball-playing central midfielder. We've got a few new faces in already but I feel we need to add two more to give us that balance. I don't know whether the left-footer will be a full-back or a winger yet, but although I've got people who can play there - Chris Taylor, Kelvin Lomax and Danny Whitaker - we need another body on that side."
