An upbeat John Sheridan praised the committment of the teams performance against Carlisle as they had to play more than half of the game with ten men. He told the official website, "I thought the lads worked extremely hard. We defended in numbers and the lads were putting their bodies on the line, which was good to see. I was disappointed with our start. Carlisle took the game to us for the first twenty minutes and we didn't look like we were at the races. However, we got into the game after our slow start, and I thought it could have been two or three all at half-time. Their keeper made two wonder saves."

"Overall I was very pleased. I still haven't seen a team better than us this season. We just need a bit of luck and then I'm sure the goals will come. We created some great chances in the second half today and could have nicked a goal. We defended well again as we have all season apart from a mad ten minutes against Rotherham in midweek. Lewis Grabban started slowly but
he's only a young kid and has to believe in himself. However, he looked nice and bright in one or two things that he did."

"Terry Smith did well and now he's certainly in with a shout of playing. I don't know how Les Pogliacomi is so I'll have to look at the situation, but Terry certainly didn't disgrace himself."
