Shez to sign cross-border from Scotland?

John Sheridan's new team squad is finally taking shape but he still needs a couple more additions before he has finished his team building. With Richie Wellens gone he will have spare cash to continue his building, and is currently interested in Kilmarnock defender Gordon Greer. Talks have already been held with the 26-year-old who scored in last season's CIS Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian.
Greer is a central defender although he can be utilised anywhere along the back line and a left back seems to be one of Shez's current priorities. Greer began his career at Clyde and then moved to Blackburn although he only made one appearance for them in the Worthington Cup. He then went on loan at Stockport before joining Killie in the 2003-04 season. He made 120 first team appearances for Kilmarnock but Greer's wife is homesick and he needs to move back down south.
