Gregan himself commented, "All the doors have closed for me at Leeds. Dennis told everyone they had a chance, but I was soon called in and told I was not in his plans. The conversation lasted about thirty seconds. Although I was a regular last season, and the team's record speaks for itself and is there in black and white, there's no point arguing with the manager's decision. However, I wish the lads well, and I hope they can get out of trouble. It's nice to feel wanted, and I'm looking forward to playing first-team football again and working under John Sheridan. In fact, he's one of the reasons I decided to come to Oldham. I've played a few games for Leeds' reserve side, but it's way off the pace you need to play at senior level. I'm just looking forward to getting out there and playing."
Shez speaks highly of latest acquisition
A delighted John Sheridan spoke highly of his latest acquisition, Sean Gregan, when he told the official website, "I'm very happy to get him. Sean is a quality player who will prove to be a great addition to the squad. I've been interested in him for a while, but obviously the injury to Stefan Stam sped things up a little. He's a leader, and will come in and help some of the younger players with his experience. Sean will have absolutely no problems at this level."
