Shez praised the determination and told Latics World, "I was very pleased with the performance. We showed a lot of character, but I don't like being two goals down so early on and those goals could have been prevented. But I'm very happy that we came back again playing good football and took the game straight to them. We picked up the tempo, got crosses in and took care of the ball, but we can't get away with going two goals down every week. Fortunately Mark Allott got us a goal back with a good strike, and I felt we'd have the advantage going down the slope in the second half. Getting back to two-one gives you that bit of belief, and I certainly believed we could go on to win."
"Wolfy guided it in using the pace of the cross and he will always score you goals. He's only a kid and looks younger than he is, but he's not afraid to go in where it hurts and he's scored one or two goals now. Now he needs to keep on scoring and pushing. I had said to Tommy Wright that we needed a goal, and I felt that if we got it back to 2-2 with ten minutes to go we'd go on to win the game and that proved to be the case. Neil picked his spot and produced a great finish, and I'm very happy we've got the win and it will give us a lift. I kick every ball out there, and I'm as much a supporter as anyone. I'm just pleased for everyone, the supporters, the players, and everyone at the club."
"Leeds will be a very hard game. Their strikers got sent off but that doesn't matter. Leeds are very strong for this division and got a good point with nine men today."
