Sheridan said, “Southport weren't the strongest side we'll face in pre-season, but we played some excellent football in the first half. It's always good to score five goals and, without going overboard in the heat, everybody had a decent workout. Neil Wood has done very well since he came in. He's a good footballer who takes care of the ball. We'll take another look on Friday night at Shrewsbury, and the same goes for Chris Neal because we need to sign a 'keeper.”
Shez pleased
John Sheridan is pleased with the way the pre-season has gone. With two friendlies played he was particularly happy with the way they demolished Southport with a professional style performance even though they played with a large number of trialists.
