John Sheridan was not impressed with the Latics' capitulation in the last two home matches, a 3-0 loss at Millwall and a 2-0 home defeat by Coventry City.
He confessed, “I won’t dwell too much. It is a yes or a no for me and I get on with it. The last two games have not been what I wanted, but I won’t go on about those matches. I will speak about what we have done before that. We have done remarkably well to stay in the division so I applaud the players for that. The fans have been with us all the way and it has been a joint effort. We have done what we had to do. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t like losing, and I don’t like the way we play sometimes even though we are safe. That’s why next season I want to put my own stamp on it. I want us to play and pass the ball a lot better than we have of late.”
