John Sheridan was left frustrated after his team returned from Blackpool with just a point after another 0-0 draw. Once again, it was a lack of finishing which cost dearly as the defence held out for their third consecutive shut-out. The best chance fell to new signing Curtis Main when he headed over the bar in the dying stages of the game.
Sheridan said, “I am really disappointed again that we haven't ended up with three points. It is hard to take. The lads are down and I am down. We deserved to win the game and you could see we tried to win it. I said to the players, looking at the games I’ve been involved in, “How the hell are you in the bottom four?” In the performances they have shown me they should be around the top eight. I never felt in any danger at all until maybe the last five minutes. It is very disappointing. We played really well, again.”
“I have to stay positive, as the performances are really good and we just have to keep the way we have been playing and take it into the game on Saturday. I am not frightened of making changes to the team or the system, if I feel it will give us the win and the goals we are after.”
