John Sheridan has asked the fans to stick with him and his system as he has enough confidence to believe that the team will soon turn the corner. Speaking before tonights League Cup clash at Rotherham, Sheridan said, "I'm disappointed with the scorelines but not the performances. Instead of just outplaying teams, we need to concentrate on getting the ball in the net. I'm not daft, I know we need a striker, but I believe that with a little luck we'll start turning out possession into goals. However, I'm pleased with the way we're defending. I know the fans are frustrated, but I'd say to them that they need to keep believing in us. If we keep playing the way we are, the goals will come."
"We've now played Tranmere, Port Vale, Swansea and Millwall and I believe that all of those teams are no better than us. If I want to try different systems, then that's my decision. I feel we've got the personnel to play a number of formations."
