Sheridan still on the lookout for players

John Sheridan is still on the lookout for a new striker after his latest targeted transfer fell through. The player was from the Scottish Premier League but turned down the contract on offer at Boundary Park. Sheridan had hoped to have his final squad assembled by now but it's proving more difficult than was first thought. He is still in need of a quality striker to replace Luke Beckett as well as a replacement keeper for Chris Day and a couple of midfielders.
Sheridan confessed, “I've made an enquiry about a striker, as well as players in different positions. There's nothing we can do except wait and see. We've got our budget and it's a question of finding people who fit into it but will also bring some quality.”
Sheridan is thought to be considering some long term loan deals if he cannot permanently sign his current targets.
