Sheridan full of praise

Latics boss John Sheridan was full of praise for his team after the 2-0 win over Bradford at Boundary Park. He enthused, "We played really, really well and thoroughly deserved the result. When you've got eight or nine players in top gear, there's always a good chance you'll win the game. I said to the lads at half-time that a goal would come our way if we carried on getting crosses into the box. I was very positive and confident the lads were going to score if they kept a high tempo. Bradford aren't a bad side going forward, and I felt we kept them quiet for long periods."

"I was going to go 4-3-3 to add Chris Hall's height up front alongside Chris Porter (pictured) and Paul Warne. However, in the end I didn't have to! I don't like to pick out individuals, but Ports' goals were both good striker's goals. He was in the right place at the right time, especially for his first goal. I'm pleased for him because he works his socks off up front, as does Paul Warne. Warney's been scoring a few recently, and it's nice to have Chris back on the scoresheet too. Marc Tierney and Kelvin Lomax coped very well, while Sean Gregan showed what a quality player he is. I was hoping that this win would move us up the league, but most of the teams at the top seemed to get a result. But we're on a little run again now, and if we can stay consistent then we're as good as anyone."
