Sheridan Blow

Athletic have been dealt a blow with the news that Darren Sheridan will miss at least the next four games after it was found that he has a torn muscle after a challenge at Stockport. Sheridan had to leave the field at Edgeley Park after only five minutes of the game.
Iain Dowie commented, “The tear is fairly slight, but it’s serious enough to give Darren a problem so we’ll have to look elsewhere. Fortunately Matty Appleby is back now – although it became instinctive last week when he had to play 160 minutes in the space of two days – and it’s nice to see Danny Boshell doing so well.” On the bonus side defender Fitz Hall and Les Pogliacomi should be back to face Notts County on Saturday.
