Ritchie disappointed

Andy Ritchie's latest return at Boundary Park is one he will want to forget quick. He told the official Terriers website, "It was disgraceful and embarrassing. The players should be ashamed of themselves. They didn't even put up a whimper. We were lucky to get away with four. I am disappointed for the fans. We had an outside chance at the play-offs and we needed to cling to that but we haven't even given ourselves a fighting chance with that performance today. The ironic thing about it is that we should have been 1-0 up before they scored. Boothy should have put it in, but from then on our heads just dropped completely and I couldn't believe some of the things that were going on on the pitch."

"We've had a long chat which was hopefully constructive, but I cannot believe how we can go from black to white in such a big way with no middle ground. No one played well at all. We have to show a lot more of everything in the next game. There were a lot of individual errors. For the second goal, Robbie should have put the ball in, but he played it to Brandon, it came back down the other end and Frank's got to control it better. There were other things as well. We were passing the ball into the midfield areas where it was well shepherded. The decision making was so far off the mark it's untrue."

"A lot of players are playing to stay at Huddersfield. There are a lot of players who have to impress that haven't done throughout the season. We have been very up and down. We've got too many people that are inconsistent and we need players who are consistent. We are looking at everything at the moment and we'll be sorting those out in the coming weeks. Of course it's disheartening to see your team play like that, but it doesn't diminish the enthusiasm I have for the job and to get the team and the Club where we want to be."
