Ridsdale rejects Latics?

Rumours are out that Peter Ridsdale has declined the offer to back the Latics and if things are not sorted out over the weekend the club could really be out of business. It is common knowledge that the financial consortium do not have enough wealth to ensure the safety of the club without a substantial backing from someone like Ridsdale.

Iain Dowie has insisted that his talented squad will not break apart but Fitz Hall (pictured), Will Haining and Les Pogliacomi have all served Athletic 14 days notice for non-payment of wages. With Wayne Andrews gone Dowie said, “None of the players want this team to break up. It’s true that three have given their notice, but it was done amicably and I appreciate they have futures to consider. Fitz, Will and Les have all shown brilliant attitude in training, as have the rest of the lads – it’s humbling to see players who are out of contract show so much dedication. It’s possible that other players will give their notice, but I know that none of them really want to go.”

Julien Baudet is back in training after becoming a free agent and Dowie assured him he could return to the fold. In a gesture of faith Fitz Hall has donated his £500 winnings from the Horners Motor Group Player of the season to the Supporters Trust.
