Ricketts to debut at Spotland

Michael Ricketts (pictured) should be fit to face Rochdale in tomorrows Rose Bowl game at Spotland. He twisted his ankle in training last week and missed the 1-2 success at Barrow in the opening friendly fixture of the season last Friday. John Sheridan said, "There's no point taking any risks at this stage, but hopefully Michael should be fine for Tuesday."

When questioned about the performance of Matty Wolfenden at Barrow, Shez admitted, "I have a lot of time for Wolfy because he's a good little player with a great attitude. He only looks like a baby, but he has got a few different things in his locker and will hopefully carry on improving. He needs to keep listening and learning, which I'm sure he will, and he needs to keep pushing me for first-team football. If Wolfy watches a striker like Michael Owen, who creates space for himself very well, it will only help his game."
