Athletic and Rochdale will pay their respects to Ernie Cooksey at the forthcoming Carling Cup tie at Spotland on 12th. August. Both teams will enter the field wearing tops that display Cooksey and the number four, the number that Ernie used at both Rochdale and Oldham. A one minute applause will be given to celebrate the man who tragically died at the age of 28 from malignent melanoma. Buckets will also be used to collect donations for Ernie's cause on what should be an emotional evening which will be witnessed by Ernie's family.
