Reuben Reid has been snapped up from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. Reid is 22 years old and has agreed to a deal which will tie him to Boundary Park until the end of the season. The fee is undisclosed but the deal includes an option to extend past that date
Reid made his debut when he came on as substitute in the match at Carlisle United and he said, “I was at Walsall on Tuesday night and trained with the team yesterday. I have been impressed with what I have seen so far. We have some good, attacking players and that can only help me as a striker.”
He began his career at Plymouth Argyle and signed for West Brom from Rotherham in a £500,000 transfer and made just seven first team appearances. He went on, “For whatever reason it didn't happen for me at West Brom. I learned a lot and am a much better player than when I arrived. Plymouth were in the Championship and, as I was not ready for the first team, they loaned me out to various clubs. They gave me a good grounding in playing for different clubs and managers and experiencing different environments.”
