Red card rescinded

David Knight's red card has been rescinded by the Football Association's disciplinary panel. The on-loan keeper was controversially dismissed against Carlisle United on Sunday for handling the ball outside the box but after considering evidence the panel have declared that the dismissal should not stand.
Alan Hardy put the case forward on behalf of Athletic and he presented video footage of the incident which conclusively proved that there had been a grave miscarriage of justice.
The ruling means that Knight can resume his place in the team to play at Bournemouth on Saturday, providing that John Sheridan considers selecting him for a return to the team.
