Paul Rachubka has been offered a new contract for next season but he has not yet agreed to sign the deal. An impass has been reached which may force the Latics to explore an alternative goalkeeper for next season.
The club want the player to remain at Boundary Park but the deadlock will have to be broken for that to happen. Manager Lee Johnson has several options and may opt to take a Premier League keeper on loan, as he has already explored. If he does so, that would leave room in the budget to bring in an experienced goalscorer.
