The Latics are hoping that the injury that Chris Porter (pictured) sustained at Chesterfield will not bee too severe to keep their leading goalscorer out of action. Chris Hall had to join Paul Warne up front after Porter was unable to resume for the second half of the game. Manager John Sheridan revealed, "Chris picked up a little knock on his knee. He was right to come off and it was just a case of a straight swap for Chris Hall. His knee was a little bit sore at half-time. We can't really tell anything more."
Richie Wellens picked up a booking in the same match and will be forced to miss next weeks Brighton game due to an automatic suspension. He was shown a yellow card with six minutes of the game left and will serve an automatic one-match ban. The ban will give chances for Craig Rocastle, Tomasz Cywka and Neil Wood who are all fit and available for selection. John Sheridan said, "Richie was always going to pick up a fifth booking sooner or later. He's been on a knife edge for the last four or five games. It's unfortunate as he's a key player for us but we've just got to get on with it."
