Plymouth renew interest in Porter

Plymouth Argyle are still in the hunt for Chris Porter, Athletic's 23 year old leading scorer. They have made another undisclosed offer since their previous offer of £650,000 back in January. Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway already has eight strikers on the books but only Barry Hayles, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Rory Fallon are considered his first team players. Argyle have also been linked with moves for Dagenham and Redbridge striker Paul Benson and Colchester United striker Jamie Cureton.
Porter joined the Latics from Bury two years ago in a £150,000 transfer. Bury have a sell-on clause for Porter and although he is out of contract the Latics will receive compensation as Porter is under the age of 24. Athletic are still hoping that Porter will remain with them and are still in negotiations with the player and his advisors.
