Shez admitted, "I don't my best eleven yet and there's still one or two things going on in my mind. It's important I get the right players out on the pitch in the right formation to give me the right team to beat Millwall on that opening day. The lads who missed the Rhyl game will be back tomorrow and everyone will be involved. Tomorrow will a similar game to Wednesday in that it's more about fitness than the result. That said, I still want to win every game I'm involved in."
"I think nowadays footballers tend to come back fit anyway, but we've changed one or two things this season as opposed to the past couple of years. It's a bit different but it's all geared to getting us off to a good start, which we haven't had for the last two seasons. If we can get a good start this time it will bring more confidence to the squad and take us on longer periods of winning games, which would get us involved at the top from early on."
Players fight for places
John Sheridan has told his players that everyone has a chance of making his starting eleven for the new season. He is still trying different permutations and the next chance for them to shine will be on the trip to Grimsby tomorrow where he expects to field two totally different teams in each half to assesses all the players at his disposal.
