Danny Philliskirk has signed for League One rivals Blackpool after a fee of £75,000 was agreed between the two clubs. Only weeks ago, manager David Dunn was singing Philliskirk's praises and stating that he did not want to lose him. The move means that Philliskirk will play against the Latics twice next month.
It was rumoured that Blackpool were short of money as they too are in a relegation battle along with the Latics, but they have offered him a two year deal with the option of another 12 months. Philliskirk made 124 appearances for Oldham since his return to Boundary Park two years ago. He also scored 25 goals.
He commented, “As soon as I knew Blackpool were in for me, I felt wanted and couldn’t wait to come here but Oldham looked after me well.”
