He said, "We don't want to push on too fast and it is important we make it a gradual build-up. The players now have 45 minutes under their belts and I will be looking for the same against Halifax. We will step that up to 60 minutes and longer as the friendly games come and go. The object is still fitness and by the time we finish the game at Bury this coming Saturday we will be three games in to pre-season and the fitness levels we have achieved should begin to show."
"The lads are all working hard in training and it is important we take that into games. Our second half performance at Hyde wasn't as good as the first period, but that's what happens in pre-season when you are making so many changes and looking at different things."
