Paul Scholes, the former England midfielder and Latics fan, has complimented manager John Sheridan on his amazing work to escape relegation.
Scholesey said: “I think it was a great appointment at the time and he has great experience. He did a great job here last time and once again he has come in and turned it right around. When he came in, they looked certainties for relegation but he made them solid and they started to win games which was important. The last couple of games were disappointing but the job was already done. Hopefully he can kick on next year and get us near the play-offs. Shez has great contacts in the game and he will be able to bring players in here. I think he will have targets to get in the play-offs at least.”
“I don’t get to as many [Oldham] games as I’d like to. With being involved with Salford City, it seems like our home games coincide with Oldham’s home games which is disappointing. I have plenty of family who go to the games in the beautiful new stand and get looked after. I always know how they are doing and I always keep a check on the players.”
