Oldham v Rochdale - match preview

Oldham’s next pre-season game is at Rochdale tonight. There is no John Eyre for tonight’s game, so Matty Appleby can stake a claim in central-midfield alongside Mark Bonner tonight.

Another selection quandary for Brian Talbot is who should partner of JJ up front. This looks like being a battle between Scott Vernon and Chris Killen, who should both feature tonight. Rodney Jack and Mark Arber should also play at Spotland despite picking up minor knocks in the friendly defeat to Bolton.

The game kicks off at 19.45, and if the scores are level after 90 minutes a penalty shoot-out will decide the winner of the inaugural “Rose Bowl”, which has been provided by the Oldham Chronicle and the Rochdale Observer. Let’s hope Oldham win some silverware!
